Most of the books are printed in Times New Roman. But in certain cases, books for the children have been published in the Arial. There are plenty of fonts available and one can get carried away, but to décor the book and provide a substance, most suitable always used from ages is the times new roman. It was in practice and use that is why in the late 19th century after the invention of computer this font was also programmed.
A humor book or a fairy tale story book may have other unusual fonts, such as take an example of comics, they have chosen the Arial fonts and the overall impression is of a non-serious immature stuff.
In publishing on the international and national level, certain few things must be kept as minimum standard, these quality standards have been determined after years of review and consideration. Then a publisher will have to abide the standards in order to survive at the global level. This is similar to the laws of medicine, and above all Laws of flying and international air traffic and safety standards laid down by the International Civil Aviation, and all countries have to abide by it, even though they may not be operating so frequently in the international airspace.
There are fonts in which all letters in the capital form either, or smaller form are not easily read or pronounced, therefore a font has to be set as a standard which easily determines each alphabet and can easily be recognized by the reader all over the world. Similarly the font size is determined keeping in view some factors before standardizing it:
- Ease in reading
- People with different eye sights, (standardized average visibility)
- Recognition of the font and letter
- Economics of printing
Similar is the standardizing of the size of the paper, margins, headings, paper thickness and etc.
The international standardized fonts are
· Book man old style size 12, 11.5.
· Arial 10, 11, 12
· Book Antiqua 11, 12.
· Times New Roman 11.5, 12
If you are thinking about printing and publishing a book the best is to get in touch with a good publisher and printer who can guide you and help you choose the right font for your book. The correct font has an impression which is far more important than anyone can imagine. That is why selecting the right font is so important.

Very nice article posting i like this post....I think this would be the best:
-One inch margins
-Double spaced text
-A single, clear, 12-point typeface
-No extra space between paragraphs
-An indented first line for each paragraph
-Information identifying the author and title of the manuscript on every page
-Page numbers
